Motherboard Shopping Blues Posting for April 07

This can be the most confusing part for a person that can build there own computer systems from the ground up, I have built 5 or more systems from the ground up;
Mounting a motherboard in the case, putting in a video card, sound card, ram, hard drives, CD ROM, CD / DVD burner, floppy drive, hooking up the cables, and then placing the fans with a external DC power supply to run all the fans.
It can be a very fun sometimes challenging thing to do, if you have a few hours to kill or a weekend to spend on building it, if you have a previous system to swap the hardware it might go a little quicker, just be sure to backup the important programs before formatting the hard drive.
I am stuck between the 3.6 gigahertz Pentium 5 core duel or the 2.6 gigahertz Athlon chip, the Gigabyte and the ASUS motherboard looks good so far and most motherboards have changed a lot over the years, all that on board goodies seem a little waste though, you end up shutting off a couple things in the BIOS, that's if you can find it burred in the multiple menus.
I might wait till I see the 4.6 gigahertz or higher motherboards to come out and then make a decision to get one.
If the motherboard manufactures can keep the on board 10/100, 10/1000 LAN, AGP, more PCI slots, ram slots, more than 512mb on board, and the USB ports, it could be a worthy gaming machine.
